Parkland Commission Approves Valet Parking For Local Restaurants

The scent of homemade blueberry muffins filled the air as customers breathed in the aroma.  
At the same time, owners Sal Sabella and Patricia DiGiovanni Sabella, along with business partner Michele Bosco Hale greeted customers with a fresh cup of coffee and a smile.

A sweet lover and health nut can get their daily fix at The Breakfast Joint in Coral Springs.
The newly opened restaurant serves homemade breakfast and lunch seven days a week.
Long time friends Patricia and Michele are the master bakers behind the restaurant’s delicious biscottis, bagels, cream cheese, muffins, fresh fruit smoothies, and waffles. The duo wakes up at 4 every morning to start baking fresh cookies and muffins.
“We have a full bakery, which includes 24 different flavored bagels, muffins, and croissants. We bake them on the premise every morning,” Sal said.

In addition to flavored bagels, other items include protein shakes, a full coffee bar, fresh salads, Barnie’s Coffee and Boar’s Head meat. Soon, pancakes and omelets will be available. Customers can also surf the Internet through its wireless connection.
“Customers call us the little Starbucks, and everything is baked fresh,” Sal said. ~

Michele and Patricia are always a staple in the kitchen or serving customers. Sal helps out on the weekends and in between owning an advertising firm. The Sabella’s children, Christina, Elizabeth, and Salvatore, and Hale’s children, Lauren and Max, help out.
“It’s nice to have the family together,” said Patricia and Michele.

Having a passion for baking, the friends turned their love into a business. They started Michelatti Gourmet and created a small version of the traditional biscotti called biscottini. The biscottinis and other baked goods are sold in supermarkets, convenience stores and cafes across the country and the restaurant.  

Now sweet lovers can dine in, take out, or call The Breakfast Joint to cater a party.
“People can call ahead and place orders, and in about 10 minutes it’s ready,” said Sal.
