Parkland Commission Approves Holmberg Road Improvements

The Parkland City Commission recently authorized staff to enter into a contract with Weekly Asphalt for the purpose of adding two four foot bicycle lanes between State Road 7 and University Drive and resurfacing Holmberg Road between NW 62 Terrace and Riverside Drive.

In addition the city will install 16 fire hydrants along Holmberg Road to service the Pine Tree Estates subdivision. A sidewalk on the north side of Holmberg Road will be installed approximately a year later to coincide with monies that the city will receive through a grant. The cost of the construction contract is approximately $2.7 million dollars. Work is expected to begin in June or July of 2008.
