“What does it take to put a newspaper together?” Our Town News Publisher Craig Swill asked a group of wide eyed students.
Swill was among many guests to speak to students about their careers at Riverglades Elementary
School’s annual Career Day. The event organized by PTA President Melissa Blank and Co-Chair
Christina Palpoli had about 30 presenters including local policemen, Parkland Mayor Michael Udine, and area businessmen.
“Our newspaper is all about kids. We focus on what’s happening in the schools,” Swill said.
Michael Udine informed students about his role as the Mayor of Parkland.
“As the Mayor, I enact laws and serve as the head of the city of Parkland,” said Udine. “Being the Mayor is a lot of fun because you get to help people, solve issues important to the community and give back to the community.”
