High School’s Journalism
Department Receives Awards

Harbinger Newspaper and Omnibus Literary Magazine staff members of Coconut Creek High School recently attended the Florida Scholastic Press Association’s (FSPA) annual convention in Tampa and competed in various categories of mass communications and journalism. It is with honor to announce that the staff members won 49 awards in various categories. These students’ efforts included many hours of preparation to perfect areas of concentration. Through team work and practice, students Christopher Anzalone, Twiggy Boyer, Vanessa Vejar, Daniel Torres, Daniel Gomez, Herns Francios, Justin Margerum, Marie Blake, Sharon Porter, Jumar Forrest, Clarissa Reyes, Tony Nguygen, Erica Baldwin, Sarai Beas, and René Brown, competed with hundreds of students; each of whom represents their respective districts. Coconut Creek High School has been in the forefront of competitions and proudly brings home these awards for District 7.
